High Court in Himachal Pradesh confirmed the CBI investigation in the death case in Negi
The Himachal Pradesh High Court on Thursday refused to intervene in the previous ruling to hand over the investigation into the death of Chief Engineer Vimal Negi to the CBI. The order comes on a petition submitted by Sanjeev Gandhi, which was the head of Sit as in Shimla. Gandhi disputed the order of a single bank to hand over the investigation to the CBI, but the court found that the petition was not considered. However, it issued a notice on a limited issue regarding the removal of some of the remarks made in the command of the state government and the wife of the deceased Kiran Negi to hand over the investigation to the CBI. Chief engineer Negi disappeared at HP Power Corporation Limited on March 10. His body was later found in Govindasagar in Bilaspur on March 18. On the suspicion of prejudice in the sitting investigation, his family moved the court demanding a CBI investigation. A Division Bank of Chief Justice GS Sandhawalia and Justice Ranjan Sharma accepted the order on Gandhi’s appeal against the decision of the single judge. Gandhi argued that some remarks in the order with reference to the status report of DGP and ACS (home) could damage his career as an IPS officer. The court will now hear this limited aspect on their argument. Share this story -tags
