New -delhi, June 7 (IANS). Union Minister JP Nadda said on Saturday at World Nutrition Safety Day that it is necessary for health and well -being to focus on food security. World Food Safety Day is observed every year on June 7, so that health problems caused by unsafe food can be identified and controlled. The theme of this year is ‘food security: to implement science’, which emphasizes the importance of scientific knowledge in reducing food, saving costs and saving lives. JP Nadda wrote on social media platform X, “On the World Food Safety Day, we understand the importance of clean and safe foods, which protect health and prevent health -borne diseases. Food is a source of our energy. We protect ourselves and our family health by paying attention to food security.” He said that the theme of this year celebrates food quality and safety through science and technology. The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) also placed on X, which says: “Science plays an important role in food security. From laboratories to the setting of standard, science helps us to choose the right choice. Choose wisely, eat safely!” According to the World Health Organization, foods can cause more than 200 diseases infected with bacteria, viruses, parasites or chemicals. For safe foods, the World Health Organization recommends keeping the food clean, separate raw and ripe food, cooking well, keeping it at safe temperatures and using clean water while cooking. Food and Public Distribution Minister Pralhad Joshi also placed on the occasion of World Nutritional Safety Day, who said: “On the World Nutrition Day, we must decide to adopt safe food habits.
