When it comes to such a jalebi in which the taste of Chhena has been solved, the fun of it is something else. Jalebi, who is hampered by Belsand in the Sitamarhi district, still maintains his special identity. Very few people know that this special kind of Jalebi started from here and that it was first made by a sugar Moongalal Sah of Belsand. About 70 years ago, Moungalal Sah thought of doing something new. He used to run a lovely store earlier and one day he prepared a different kind of Jalebi by mixing Chhena and Maida. It was roasted in Desi Ghee and when people tasted it, everyone loved it. Gradually, this dessert has become famous in the entire area. Now Moongalal Sah is not in this world, but his taste is still on the tongue of people. For a few years, people from his family continued to work as this dessert, but now no family member is in this profession. However, the artisans who work with him still follow this tradition. One is Ramanand Sah, who now runs a shop called ‘Chandni Sweets’. They sell 30 to 35 kg of Jalebi per day. Apart from this, there are other shop owners. Which means that more than 1 quintal of Jalebi is sold daily by the cylinds. Ramanand says that Moungalal Sah had to bring something new into sweets. He made Jalebi by mixing Chena and Maida and nourishing people. The taste was of such a nature that people began to become overcrowded. This jalebi has become famous throughout the area. Now it is made in many parts of the district, but the talk of Jalebi van Belsand is something else. Elderly people say that the sweetness as before is no longer in Jalebi. Earlier, Desi was fried in Ghee, and it is now made in refined oil. At the time, 15-16 Dik Jalebis was made in one kilo and the special thing was that Moongalal Sah was served in a clay ax, which people liked it a lot. Jalebi, the Chhena of Belsand, has now become an identity. No guest coming here goes back empty -handed, he definitely takes this jalebi with you. Whether it is leaders or officers, they have tasted it. Nevertheless, the sad thing is that this dessert has not yet received a GI label. If these labels are found, the identity of Belsand can be made throughout the country. Location: Sitamarhi, Bihar Homebihar wanted to make Moongalal
