He fought to protect the rights and environment of people affected by large dams. He united people against the construction of the dam over Narmada. 4. Jadav Payang Jadv is known as ‘Forest Man of India’. He alone erected 1,300 hectares of forest in Majuli Island in Assam in 40 years. He showed the way to flood, fight erosion and heat by planting trees. Jadav is received by the Indian government the Padma Shri. 5. Sunita Narayan Center for Science and Environment Director Sunita plays an important role in setting up environmental policies.
