Dedicated Charan Das has the attack on BMC officer, 'this disgraceful and completely unfair' condemned '
Bhubaneswar, July 1 (IANS). Bhakta Charan Das, president of the Odisha Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC), strongly condemned the attack on Ratnakar Sahu, additional commissioner of Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC). He attacked the state government after this incident and blamed the ruling Bharatiya Janata party (BJP) for the growing chaos and hooliganism in the state. In response to the incident, the dedicated Charan Das said: “What happened to the BMC officer during a public hearing was disgraceful and completely unfair. About eight to ten BJP workers attacked the officer, pulled him off, abused the officer. Das called the attack an attack on the democratic system and immediately arrested the culprits. The incident came to light when Ratnakar Sahu was allegedly attacked by some BJP workers during a public hearing at the BMC office. Das said: “What happened to BMC’s additional commissioner during the public hearing is exceptionally disgraceful and unacceptable. About eight to ten BJP workers attacked the officer, pulled him off, abused and vulgar language. Their only fault was that he did not invite the BJP leader of the public hearing.” He described this incident as a clear example of BJP’s abuse of power. Das raised the question: “Have elected leaders or some workers worn such a violent behavior if no one is invited? This behavior only reflects the mentality of their hooliganism and dominance. He further said that the politics of muscle force in this way are not only against democratic values, but also create an atmosphere of chaos and fear in society. The law and ordinary situation in the state is bad. Since the BJP came to power, such incidents in Odisha have increased. The use of such muscle use to control the system is unacceptable in the democratic system. He warned that if such incidents were not combined, it would promote more chaos in the state. Das said: “We strongly condemn this act and demand from the government to ensure a fair investigation. The culprits should not be spared no matter how strong their political reach is.” -Ians Akks/GKT Share these Story Tags
