There are more than 28 million unemployed accounts that are now active again. “Ten millions of accounts have been opened,” Natsir Kongah, PPATK Public Relations Bureau Natsir Congah, on Thursday (7/31/2025) told reporters. “(There are) over 28 million (the account opened),” he added. Browse to continue the content, Natsir explained that the request for unemployed accounts that has been blocked has continued. He said it is currently opening the middle bill in the process. “Keep doing (opening a slumbering account) and continuing,” he said. Natsir asked the public not to worry that money was lost in the unemployed account blocked by PPATK. He made sure that the customer’s money was safe. “100 percent of customers are safe,” he said. The 3 -month unemployed account will be blocked by PPATK to block a bank account that has been unemployed for three months. Head of PPATK Ivan Yustiavandana said accounts in each bank are unemployed, depending on the customer’s profile. “Dormant’s criteria for each bank are different, depending on the client’s profile and business risks that are parameters of each bank,” Ivan told reporters on Thursday (7/31). He also explained the type of unemployed account for three months that would be blocked. The account will be blocked if it is made deliberate for online gambling. “There is no 3 -month criterion. The 3 -month period is the period if the client is included in the criteria is very risky, for example, opening an account for Judol/Criminal Offict and it was left after the data was executed by the bank,” he added. Ivan explained that the sleeping account mostly frozen by PPATK was over five years. According to him, an inactive account has been the potential to be abused for more than five years if no one is guarded. “So there is no concern that the account is lost and others, the government guarded and present to protect the public. Besides, who says the account is seized by all the states? He-he-he …,” he said. Ivan said the policy is exclusively to protect the public’s account not to be abused for online gambling (Judol) or other criminal offenses. He referred to the social impact of Judol who went bankrupt to commit suicide. (WHN/IMK)
