PhD Scholar ends life at Iiser Kolkata about Ragging, Institutional neglect: 'Recurring physical, spiritual abuse'
A third-year PhD scholar of the Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (Iiser), Kalyani, died in a hospital on Friday, hours after he became ill on campus, a police officer said. Anamitra Roy, 24, was rushed to Aiims-Kalyani late Thursday night in a critical state of Iiser-Kalyani, he said. Roy’s family said they were informed that he had died due to sudden heart failure. Roy, a resident of the Shyamnagar area in the neighboring North -24 Parganas district, has previously talked about depression since the age of 14 in positions on social media, PTI reports.
