Europe supports the data agreement with America to avoid a dispute over privacy
The General Court in the European Union supported the agreement on data transfer with the United States and refused a legal appeal that argued that US monitoring laws still do not comply with European privacy standards. The court ruling of today by the Luxembourg court is the latest chapter in a legal battle that took a contract on how to convey personal information. Two previous data frameworks between the European Union and the United States – the ‘Safe Haven’ and ‘Privacy Shield’ – were void for their failure to protect the personal information of the citizens.
