Rajasthan: Ghoomar festival is held for the first time in Jaipur on November 15

Jaipur, September 11 (IANS). Ghoomar Festival 2025 will be held for the first time on November 15 in Jaipur, Rajasthan. This initiative of Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma intends to demonstrate the rich folk culture of the state and strengthen women’s empowerment at national and international level. Under the guidance of Deputy Head Minister and Minister of Tourism, Arts and Culture Dia Kumari, the preparations for the event were reviewed at a meeting arranged on Thursday under the chairmanship of District Collector Jitendra Kumar Soni at the district collector. Sony has instructed the authorities to ensure timely and effective arrangements, so that this festival can become a wonderful symbol of Rajasthan’s culture and traditions. Joint tourism director Punita Singh said the festival would celebrate the public heritage and also give a strong message from women empowerment. Deputy Director of Tourism Upendra Singh Shekhawat informed that Chitrakot Stadium, Polo Ground and Bhavani Niketan College Ground will be the most important place. Online registrations begin from September 15 through the Portal of the Tourism Division. The department also releases an official festival song and organizes workshops from November 9 to 13. Shekhawat said the tourism department will arrange tents, lights, sounds, decorations and photo-live. Traffic management will be arranged for school colleges participants. The Municipal Corporation, Public Health and Family Welfare Division and JVNL will provide basic facilities such as water, sanitation, electricity and toilets. Adequate police forces, medical teams and emergency services will also be deployed. Food stalls, souvenir shops and other facilities are available on the venue. A special jury will oversee the continuous review and coordination of the event. The district collector has instructed all departments to work with mutual cooperation to ensure the success of this historical festival, which aims to take the legacy and culture of Rajasthan to new heights.
