Mendoza, Cooper leads no. 22 Indiana to 73-0 victory over the excessive Indiana state
Bloomington, Ind. (AP) -FERNANDO MENDOZA threw five passes in the first half, Omar Cooper Jr. Tied up an Indiana record with four TD uninhabits and the no. 22 Hoosiers moved 73-0 on Friday night. Indiana (3-0) has only allowed 77 meters in his biggest victory since a 78-0 over Franklin on October 19, 1901. The Hoosiers jumped with three scores in the first quarter against their undermining subdivision birds, with Mendoza scored on a 7-Yard run and two TD passes of 13-Yard. Mendoza then contacted Holden Staes of 18 meters outside, hit Jonathan Brady on a 4-yard and added a 31-year-old to Cooper in the second quarter. In the third quarter, Cooper had a 58-meter TD catch from Mendoza’s brother, Alberto, to finish with 10 catches for 207 meters. He tied James Hardy’s 2006 record for TD catches in a match. Mendoza, a California transfer, completed his first 14 passes. He finishes 19 of 20 for 270 meters and does not play in the second half. The Hoosiers led 45-0 at halftime and ended with 680 meters. The Sycamores (2-1) had only five first downs. Keegan Patterson, Indiana State, completed 8 of 16 passes for 13 meters before being replaced late in the third term. He was fired four times. Indiana State: The 50 1/2 point underdog Sycamores could not make it a game, but from the season 2-0 for the first time since 1986, indicates that this team could be better against FCS competition. Indiana: Although the offense rolled again, coach Curt Cignetti had a watchful eye on his defenders, which allowed nine plays of 15 meters or more to get the state Kennesaw the week before. The Hoosiers did not allow one game of more than 15 meters and had 16 sneakers for loss. Next week’s Big Ten opener should be the first correct test of the Hoosiers. A third consecutive victory against an FCS opponent is not expected to increase Indiana in the rankings. Indiana State: Next Saturday in Montana. Indiana: Hold Illinois next Saturday.
