Jakarta – The library visit is commemorated every September 14. This momentum also coincides with the anniversary of the month of reading which is regularly celebrated each year during September. The day of library visit is not only a special celebration for library institutions, but also the wider community. This idea was first initiated by Mastini Hardjoprakoso, the first head of the Indonesian National Library. President Soeharto then issued a decision at the head of the National Library of the Republic of Indonesia through letter number 020/A1/VIII/1995 dated August 11, 1995.
