Lance Naik Karam Singh: Immortal story of courage and patriotism

New -Delhi, September 14 (IANS). Lance Naik Karam Singh was one of the countless warriors who came from the ground of Punjab, who sacrificed themselves in the defense of the country. The saga of his bravery not only reflects in the Battle of Tithwal in the 1947-48 Indo-Pak War, but even today every Indian patriotism is awakened in the heart. Lance Naik Karam Singh Punjab was born on September 15, 1915, in a Boer family in the Barnala district of Punjab. He has been a strong willpower since childhood. He was sent to school at the age of six, but was less interested in studies. Therefore, his father rented him in the field. In his youth he started working as a laborer. However, he wanted to become a farmer like a father. He did not think about what to do in the future. However, no one thought that this boy, who is interested in becoming a farmer, would one day be acidic about the enemy country Pakistan. The day of September 15, 1941, when Karam Singh joined the Indian army. While in the army, he suggested his bravery several times. However, the date of October 13, 1948 was recorded on the pages of history. In this war with Pakistan, he gave an appropriate answer to the ominous act of the enemy country. It is said that when the bullets were over in this war, they still did not give up and attacked the enemy with a dagger, in which many Pakistani soldiers died. His courage so discouraged the enemy that he withdrew. He was awarded the Chakra param in 1950 for this bravery of Lance Naik Karam Singh. He was the second fighter to receive this honor. He returned to his village after retiring out of the army. He spent the rest of the time with his family.
