Madhya Pradesh: 20 -month -old female leopard in Kuno National Park, fear of collision with leopard
Sheopur, September 15 (IANS). India’s ambitious project Cheetah had another setback. Sad news comes from the Kuno National Park (KNP), where a 20 -month -old female cheetah was found dead in the woods. Park officials officially confirmed this by issuing a press note at about 9pm on Monday night. The incident happened on Monday when the staff saw the body of the leopard in the woods. The female cheetah was released on February 21, 2025 with her mother Jwala and three siblings in the woods. She divorced her mother more than a month ago and left her siblings a few days ago. Initial investigation is the cause of death due to leopard, but the exact reason will only be clear if the postmortem report comes. Experts of wildlife believe that regional dispute between leopards and leopards is common in the forest, especially if leopards are young and alone. These include 9 adult African leopards, 6 female and 3 male, while 16 cheetahs are Indian origin completely healthy. “This figure shows the progress of the Cheetah project, but the constant deaths remain concerned. Project Cheetah, who started with 8 Cheetahs in 2022. In the last two years, over the past two years, there are at least ten Cheetahs, in which the Project Cheetah was erected after 70 years.
