Jakarta – The Office of the Attorney (Kejari) Serang has named the president’s director of PT Serang Berkah Mandiri (STC), Isbandi Ardiwinata Mahmud, as a suspect in a corruption case. Isgandi is suspected of corruption in the financial management of PT STC which harmed the state RP 2.3 billion. “Based on valid preliminary evidence in the form of explanations of witnesses, experts, letters and evidence, the investigative team found alleged corruption with an estimated financial loss of the state RP2.3 billion,” said Tuesday (9/16/2025), head of Serang Kejari, IG Puniya atmaja. In his capacity as the president of PT SBM (Perseroda), he is suspected of abusing the authority in the financial management of the company by withdrawing money from the account of PT SBM. “The funds withdrawn by the suspect are not reported and are not responsible for the Finance Department of PT STC, but are used for personal interests, such as the payment of debt, private motors and Innova motor ropes, which are the assets of PT STC but mounted by the suspect,” Puniya said. Puniya said that the funds entered into by the personal account of isgandi amounted to approximately RP1 billion, directly transferred from PT SBM account. The rest imports through other parties’ accounts or cash deposits. For his actions, the suspect allegedly violates Article 2 paragraph (1), Article 3 Jo. Section 18 Paragraph (1) Letter B, and Article 9 of Ri Law Number 31 of 1999 as amended by RI Act number 20 of 2001 regarding the eradication of corruption. “Since the suspect is threatened with a maximum imprisonment of 20 years and feared to escape, damage or eliminate evidence, or to repeat criminal offenses, the suspect in the Class II B withholding center was detained for 20 days, from 16 September 2025 to October 5, 2025,” he explained.
