Questions were once again raised about the safety of women in the National Capital Region (NCR). Nigerian girl, who participated in an international training program in Noida, next to Delhi, was found unconscious at Kaushambi Metro Station in Ghaziabad. Later, he accused an unknown e-rick driver of looting and carrying wrong when he came to his mind. This incident became a matter of concern to locals and police. What happened? Jitendra Kumar Singh, inspector of the Noida police station sector-58, said Nigerian girl Atilolo, ‘Kaushal National Institute of Entrepreneurship and Small Business Development’ came to India to participate in a training program. An official from the institute filed a complaint from police on Thursday night that Atilolo had left the institute on June 2, but it only returned until June 3. Police said the search for the complaint was started, and later Atilol was found unconscious at Kaushambi Metro Station in Ghaziabad. He was rushed to the hospital immediately, where he heard his tragedy after coming to his senses. The woman’s tragedy that Atilolo told police that she was to a mall to shop and took an e-rick shop while returning from there. According to him, the e-rick driver started taking him on the wrong path, so he opposed it. After protesting, the driver treated her immoral and snapped her cellphone. Atilolo is afraid of this and jumps from the moving e-rims. After this incident, she probably fainted because of fear and shock. Police registered a case on the basis of the victim’s statement and began looking for an e-rick driver. Police are investigating CCTV footage related to the incident to identify the accused and arrest him. The memories of Lucknow’s incident are reminiscent of a similar incident in Lucknow two weeks ago. In the incident, a nursing student was plagued by an e-rick driver and made an effort with her. The brave student also jumped from the e-rims to save her life. The CCTV footage of the incident became viral on social media, which shook the people. Four accused were arrested by police in that case. Both of these incidents show that the safety of women in public transport, especially e-rims, has become a big problem. In such cases, police must act quickly and punish criminals strictly, so that such incidents can be prevented in the future. There is also a need to increase safety standards in public transport services and make verification of managers compulsory. These incidents have questioned the safety of women, not only in Delhi-NCR, but also for women across the country, especially for women traveling alone. The authorities must take this problem seriously and take concrete steps to prevent such cases.
