Success of Wealth From Collaboration: Maniben van Banaskanta sold milk of 1.94 crores, target of 3 crores this year
Gandhinagar, September 18 (IANS). The empowerment of the cooperative sector of the country and thereby enriching the farmers and livestock farmers of every village of the country is the vision of Premier Narendra Modi. The Gujarat State Cooperative sector, led by Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, plays an important role in the entire country. Due to the widespread efforts in the cooperative sector, the cattle of the state become rich and women in particular are inspiring society by becoming self -sufficient. One such success saga is from Banaskantha’s Maniben, who collected milk worth Rs 1 Crore 94 Lakh in the year 2024-25 and achieved second place in the Banaskantha district. This year she prepares to reach the target to sell milk worth Rs 3 crore. Maniben Jesungbhai Chaudhary, 65, of Kasra Village of Kankrej Taluka, deposits 1100 liters of milk per day into the local, the Patelwas (Kasra) Milk Producers Coverative Council. In the year 2024-25, he deposited a total of more than 3 lakh 47 thousand liters of milk, which was worth more than Rs 1.94 crore. As a result of this achievement, he took second place in the Best Banas Lakshmi category in the entire Banaskanta district this year. Recently, he received an honorary letter for this success at a general meeting held in Badarpura of Banaskantha. Maniben wants to take this success to new heights. Vipulbhai, the youngest of the three boys in his family, said that from time to time we receive proper guidance from Banas Dairy and that we are constantly moving forward in the region. In 2011, we only had 10 to 12 cows and buffalo, the number of which has now increased to more than 230. Currently we have 140 buffalo, 90 cows and about 70 small calves. This year we want to increase milk production by buying another 100 buffalo. At the end of the year, we prepare ourselves to sell milk worth more than three crore. Maniben’s family arranged a barn to take care of cows and buffalo. He has buffalo from Banni, Mahesani and Murrah Breed, as well as four indigenous cancer cows alongside HF cows. About 16 families today are associated with Maniben’s livestock work. Maniben uses modern machines for cow and buffalo milk. In the entire process of animal husbandry, family members also actively work together and inspire it. Vipulbhai says that we are all three brothers and that we are all involved in this work. Due to increasing revenue from the livestock sector, many youths also take inspiration to join this work. The number of dairy cooperative societies and self -help groups run by women in the Gujarat animal husbandry is striking. There are a total of more than 16,000 milk -productive cooperatives in the state, of which about 4.150 committees are fully managed by women. More than 11 Lakh women have been included in more than 36 Lakh members of the state. In large dairies such as Banas Dairy, where about 90 lakh liter of milk is compiled every day, the contribution of female cattle is also very important. A large number of women members in Banas Dairy were not only financially empowered by depositing milk worth more than Rs 50 lakh per year, but also became a source of confidence and inspiration in rural society. -Ians PSK/DSC
