Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed his condolences on Wednesday about the downfall of the Grand Mufti of Saudi Arabia Sheikh Abdulaziz Bin Abdullah bin Mohammed Alsheikh. “The deepest condolences to the sad ruin of the great Mufti of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, his prominent Sheikh Abdulaziz bin Abdullah bin Mohammed Alsheikh,” he wrote in a post about X. “Our thoughts and prayers are with the kingdom and its people in this moment of grievance,” Premier added. Sheikh Abdulaziz has served as the top religious authority of the Islamic State more than two decades. His death was announced on Tuesday. (This is a developing story. Go back for updates)
