Cabinet approves the bonus of Rs 1.866 crore for railway employees before Deepawali
New -Delhi, September 24 (IANS). The Union Cabinet on Wednesday approved the productivity -linked bonus (PLB) of R1,866 crore for railway employees across the country. More than 10.90 Lakh Railway Employees will benefit. Railways Minister Ashwini Vaishnav said this bonus is equal to the 78 -day salary, acknowledging dedicated efforts by railroad employees to smooth operation and efficiency. Cabinet note said the bonus serves as an incentive to motivate railway employees to improve the performance of the railroad. According to the note, the maximum amount of Rs 17,951 PLB Rs 17.951 for each eligible railway employee. The bonus will be given to railway employees of different categories, such as Track maintenance, Loco Pilot, Train Manager (Guard), Station Master, Supervisor, Technician, Technician Helper, Pointman, Ministry employees and other groups ‘C’. Cabinet said: “Railways performed very well in the year 2024-25. Railways took a record of 1614.90 million tonnes of load and brought about 7.3 billion passengers to the destination.” Last year, the government approved a bonus of Rs 2.029 crore, favoring more than 11.7 Lakh employees. In addition, the Minister of Railways said that the long -lasting Bharat -Sleeping trains will soon begin. He gave information to the media on Tuesday, saying that the first train had already passed in all the necessary tests and that he was standing at the Shakur Basti Coach Depot in Delhi, while the second train is likely to be ready by mid -October. Vaishnav said: “Both trains will start simultaneously to ensure the continuity of overnight services.” The Bharat Sleeper Train, produced by the government business, VEBL using Integral Coach Factory Technology, will have 16 coaches, which will be divided into AC first class, AC 2 level and AC 3 level. -Ians abs/
