Chhattisgarh: Best and injured in Godavari Steel Plant Crash, Rescue Work continues (Lead-1)
Raipur, September 26 (IANS). A terrible accident happened on Friday at the Godavari Steel Limited plant in Siltara Industrial Area of Raipur, the capital of Chhattisgarh. The roof of the structure under construction suddenly collapsed, in which 6 laborers died on the spot and 6 others were seriously injured. Police and administrative teams immediately began rescue operations, but there is a possibility that some laborers are trapped in the rubble. The accident happened around 2pm when the workers worked in a part of the plant. Suddenly a large part of the roof, which caused many people under the rubble. Raipur SSP Lal Umed Singh said police, Fire Brigade and NDRF team reached the place once the information was received. Tap and cutting machines are used in rescue operations. The dead include Nirmalkar Malik, Narayan, Ghanshyam Manohar Ghormare, Tulsiram Dhut, Kaligotla Prasanna Kumar and GL Prasanna Kumar. All of these workers were some of the surrounding districts and neighboring states. Among the injured are the names of Mityu Yadav, Datendra, Jayaprakash Verma, Pawan Kumar, Chandra Prakash and Chakadhar Rao, who were admitted to a private hospital in Devendra Nagar. According to doctors, the condition of some injured remains critical. “This is a tragic accident. Our priority is to treat the injured and provide assistance to the families of the deceased. The company will conduct an independent investigation into the case and ensure the full satisfaction of safety standards,” told the scene at the scene. He said that this part of the plant is being built under the expansion work, and that all the workers have received security equipment. However, in the initial investigation, questions are asked about the quality of construction material and structural weakness. Raipur SSP said: “We have recovered six bodies, and six injured were rushed to the hospital.
