Rahul Gandhi is concerned about Karur Stampede, calls CM Stalin
Chennai, September 28 (IANS). Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Mk Stalin resigned on Sunday, Congress Leader Rahul Gandhi, who contacted him over the phone after a fierce stamp during the rally in Karur, the actor -driven leader. The chief minister said Rahul Gandhi expressed his concern and took detailed information about the measures taken to save the lives of the people undergoing treatment. Stalin posted on the social media platform ‘X’, “my dear brother Thiru Rahul Gandhi, thank you for being honestly questioned the measures taken, to contact me by phone, expressing their concerns about the tragic incident of Karur and saving the precious lives of people being treated.” On Saturday night, a stamped members took place in Velluchampuram in the Karur district when thousands of people gathered at an election meeting in Tamilga Vitri Kajgam (TVK), who was addressed by actor -shown leader Vijay. According to officials, there was a stamp due to high crowds and sudden chaos as he left the venue of actor leader Vijay. At least 40 people, including women and children, were killed and dozens of people were injured. Chief Minister Stalin, who arrived in Karur in the early hours of Sunday, visited Government Medical College Hospital to meet the injured and their families. He announced a remuneration of Rs 10 Lakh to the families of each deceased and gave the assurance that the commission of inquiry under the guidance of retired Judge Aruna Jagdishan would investigate the entire circumstances behind the tragedy. Opposition leader and AIADMK Secretary Secretary Edapadi K. Palaniswami also visited the hospital. He convicted the state police of decaying under multitude of control and demanded accountability.
