Ashoka was born in 304 BC in pathaliputra (today’s Patna). This great emperor of the Maurya dynasty has been known as a brave fighter since childhood. After his father and king Bindusara of the Maurya dynasty, when Ashoka took over the throne, he was a very strict king in the beginning.
