Former joint director of CBI Nirmal Kumar Singh (NK Singh), who arrested former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi and raised the country’s politics, died at the age of 81. He breathed his last on Sunday night in a Delhi hospital. He had brain bleeding a few days ago. NK Singh, a Madhepura resident in Bihar, also had a deep connection with Jamshedpur. He was the brother -in -law of former Jharkhand Vidhan Sabha -speaker, the late Mrigendra Pratap Singh. She personally sustained a large part of the arrest of Indira Gandhi. Allegedly, his older son Dilip Singh was killed in a trucking accident in a sense of revenge. Leaders of the then opposition Chandrashekhar, Chaudhary Charan Singh, Atal Bihari Vajpayee and George Fernandes conducted a strong protest march in the Lok Sabha over the incident. NK Singh had a deep connection to Jamshedpur. He was the older brother -in -law of the former Jharkhand Minister of Finance and the late Mrigendra Pratap Singh, who was the speaker of the legislative meeting and Amarendra Pratap Singh, Speaker of the Bihar legislative meeting. In July 1996, his famous book ‘The Plane Truth’ (Khara Satya) was inaugurated in Michael Jaan Auditorium in Bishtupur, Jamshedpur. Celebrities such as George Fernandes, Arun Shourie, Mrigendra Pratap Singh and Manoranjan Das were involved in this program. From politics to writing, NK Singh retired from the post of joint director of CBI. He was also the Director General of BSF and BPRD. He was awarded the police medal and presidential police medal for his outstanding service. He was one of the founding members of the Samata party formed by George Fernandes and was also the national president. Later he also became a member of the National Executive of Janata Dal United (JDU). He also wrote two books entitled ‘The Plane Truth’ and ‘The Hole Truth’, in which he composed his experiences and life journey.
