Mumbai: Customs' great action, smuggler arrested with drugs worth Rs 5.8 crore
Mumbai, October 6 (IANS). Customs officials received a major breakthrough on October 4 and 5 at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport in Mumbai (CSMIA). Customs 3 officials, acting on information from an informant, arrested smugglers with suspected hydroponic weeds (marijuana) worth Rs 5.827 crore. After the information received from an informant, customs officials stopped and searched three different passengers who arrived on the flight number VZ 760 of Bangkok. When the check -in bags of these three were searched, a large amount of suspected hydroponic weeds (marijuana) was recovered. In the first case, 1.964 kg weeds were recovered from the passenger, the market value of which is about Rs 1.964 crore. In the second and third case, 1.93 kg of drugs, worth Rs 1.93 crore, were recovered from two different passengers. At the same time, the value of repaired drugs of 1.933 kg is estimated at Rs 1.933 crore. The three passengers are cleverly hidden in the trolley bags. The three passengers were arrested under the provisions of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPs), 1985. In another major oppression, customs officials smuggled the smuggling of wildlife. When a passenger who arrived on Bangkok’s flight 6th 1060 was stopped, several exotic living animals were recovered from his trolley bag. It includes 19 iguanas, 10 orange beards, 1 Kweper monitor -it -laced and squirrels. A raccoon was found dead. The passenger was arrested under the Customs Act, 1962 and the protection of wildlife, 1972. In another case, based on the control of the baggage of a passenger coming from Colombo with the flight number UL 141, officials seized high-tech drone worth Rs 32,19 Lakh.
