Carwa Chauth 2025: 'Only 1 day in a year ...' Pooja Ji's husband reveals a unique secret about carwel chauth
In Indian culture, the festival of Karva Chauth is regarded as a symbol of unwavering love and dedication between husband and wife. Traditionally, women take Nirjala on this day and pray for the longevity and good health of their husbands. However, Madhya Pradesh, a unique couple in Khandwa, celebrates this festival in a new way. Here, the man Rajesh Chaudhary has seen Karva Chauth for the past 11 years for his wife Pooja Chaudhary. This couple became an example of true love and equality in today’s times. “If you hold me quickly, I will also stay for you quickly.” Rajesh Chaudhary and Pooja were married on February 22, 2014. Even before marriage, on Karva Chauth, Rajesh promised his wife – “If you stay fast for my long life, I will also keep you quickly.” Since then, Rajesh observes it quickly every year. He does not consume water throughout the day and breaks with his wife by looking at the moon at night and providing water together. Rajesh explains: “My wife’s name is pooja, so I get a chance once a year to execute her puja and Aarti. I consider it a ritual of love and equality.” Both perform the ritual together to break the fast. The night of Karva Chauth, when the moon is visible in the air, man and woman break them by looking at each other’s faces on the balcony. Pooja brings a decorated Thali to her husband, while Rajesh ends up by drinking water from her hand. Then Rajesh also gives water to his wife. This moment is no less than a celebration for them. This tradition of them is not only a ritual, but a beautiful example of love, respect and trust. This Karva Chauth gives the message of equality. Rajesh believes that men and women are equal to society. So if a woman can stay fast for the long life of her husband, why can’t a man? He says, “We are both together in every happiness and sadness of life. So why discrimination in fasting? Love means sharing each other’s happiness.” This idea points to a positive change in today’s time. When people talk about equality and respect, Rajesh and Pooja have proved it in their lives. A love story based in simplicity Rajesh Chaudhary lives in Khandwa and has been working as a medical representative (Mr) in a multinational enterprise for the past 15 years, Sistopic. His native village is Badgaon Gurjar, while his wife is Pooja’s mother house in Ahmedpur Khegaon. They have two children, and the whole family follows this tradition with great respect. Rajesh says: “I believe that a relationship is strong only if both partners contribute equally. That’s why I take Karva Chauth with my wife.” In contemporary times, where selfishness and pretense became predominant in relationships, couples like Rajesh and Pooja remind us of true love. This Karva Chauth is not only a party, but also a sensitive message – no one is big or small in love; Both are equal. Such a “dum pyaari Jodi” is indeed a true example of this Karva Chauth.
