The newlywed bride cursed the people of the area through the death of her husband and said, “Just as I commit Sati with the body of my husband, none of you wives can live with sixteen decorations before your husband.” Call it the curse of Sati or the anger of a woman who mourns her husband’s death. This incident was like a disaster in the area, in which many youths died. Many married women have become widows and disaster has hit the environment. At the time, the elders regarded it as the effect of Sati’s anger and sought forgiveness by building her temple. No woman is ready to take the initiative to free herself from the curse. The elderly woman Sunhari Devi gave information about Sati MAA, saying: “It is said that the series has stopped unnatural deaths after the worship of Sati, but the women here do not hold the fasting of Karva Chauth for their husbands’ safety, nor do they give them any gift to their daughters on Karva Chauth.” Since then, no married woman in hundreds of families of this environment does not decorate herself and he does not hold the fasting of Karva Chauth for her husband’s long life. This tradition has lasted hundreds of years and has been transferred from generation to generation. No married woman is willing to take the initiative to free herself from this curse.
