The congress starts campaign for affordable housing in maharashtra

Mumbai, October 10 (IANS). On Friday, the congress launched a state -world campaign for affordable housing in Maharashtra in collaboration with 25 different organizations. Harshvardhan Sapkal, head of the Maharashtra Congress, said that house prices in Mumbai and Maharashtra became beyond the reach of ordinary people. He described the affordable housing scheme of the congressional government as beneficial, and he demanded to implement it on a large scale. Sapkal said that under the 33/33/33 formula of Mill Land Development, 33 percent of the land held to the public is given to industrialists, which is wrong. He talked about the banning and cheap homes on these countries. He said it was the congressional government that started affordable housing through the Maharashtra housing authority and area development authority and later decided to build homes for the mill workers. Of the 1,10,000 houses promised to mill workers, only 15,000 have been delivered so far. The remaining Meullands are handed over to industrialists. Sapkal said the BJP-led Grand Alliance government literally sale Mumbai because everything is donated to their favorite industrialists. Just as Delhi’s leadership promoted his favorite industrialists, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has now created a group of his own industrialists and gives them plots of land and housing projects. Sapkal mentions Patil’s statement as irresponsible and shameless. He said that at a time when farmers are being destroyed, such remarks are such as rubbing salt on their wounds. The Fadnavis government ministers are unbridled, shameless and arrogant. By making such remarks, he exposed how his government was running on empty promises. Such ministers must be fired, but unfortunately Chief Minister Fadnavis saves them – which is a tragedy for Maharashtra. Sapkal also informed that preparations are underway for local body elections. Revision meetings were held in all districts and the verification work of voter lists is underway. He further said that applications were invited from interested candidates and that they would be sent to the State Committee by the District Congress Committees, which will make the final decision.
