Asian aquatic championships: Singapore beats India 27-7 in water polo classification matches

Ahmedabad, October 10 (IANS). On Friday, in the semi-finals and classification water polo matches of the 11th Asian aquatic aquatic championship were seen. However, India was defeated by Singapore 27-7 in the 5-8 classification matches for women during the event held at the Savarkar Sports Complex. Japan and China reached the final of the women’s category with strong performances. Iran came to the men’s final. Singapore acted brilliantly against India and won the women’s 5-8 classification match 27-7. Teo Ji Suan, Lim Wan Jun Nicol of Singapore, and Koh Hsiao Lee each scored four goals. Li Xuan Hui and Wan Celeste Ferrao each scored three goals, while Yap Jingxuan Ranis, Gan Huimin and Yeo Ying Xuan Kayla each scored two goals. Ong Shu and, Ong Jia Hui and Lu Ti Inna each scored 1 goal. For India, Krupa Ranichitra and Captain Varsha Suresh each scored 2 goals, while Safwa Sakir, Dhruti Karthikeya and Madhurima Shanthi each scored 1 goal. In the first semi-final for women, Japan defeated Thailand 25-21 in an exciting meeting. Japan’s Lore Nina was the top scorer with 9 goals, while Sanda Yumeka (4), Kobayashi Maho and Shironoshita Kaho each scored 3 goals. Captain Fukuda Shoka, Shibata Canades and Eguchi Sera each scored 2 goals. For Thailand, RuangaSappaisan Raksina scored 7 goals, while Puangtong Kritsana scored 4 goals. Chotrotchanan Parani, Kongchaoy Thanita and Kwantongtanari Pittayaporn each scored 2 goals, while Kwantongtanari Thanidakarn, Pukkaman Panita, Ruangsuppaisan Sarocha and Ngammaroenkaroensuktavorn Pimpin each achieved. In the other female semi-final, China won by defeating Kazakhstan 14-4. Zhang Qishuo scored 5 goals, while Captain Sun Yating scored 3 goals, and Li Peiyang and Wang Xuan each scored 2 goals. Guo Chenghong and Li Jianyu each scored 1 goal. For Kazakstan, Kaplun Victoria, Anosova Valeria, Nibiyeva Milena and Ozkaya Alina each scored one goal. In an exciting and hard-fighting men’s water polo semi-final, Iran kept the crowd busy from start to finish and defeated Japan 19-18. Iran captain Yazdankhab Mehdi led his team that scored an impressive 7 goals, while Gavidelhajiagha Amin scored 3 goals. Mehrikohneshahri Alireza, Iranpurtari Ashkan and Adham Mersad each scored 2 goals, and Aghai Karim Omid, Behzadasburi Farbod and Golestanirad Mehrab each scored 1 goal. Japan also acted brilliantly, with Captain Ura Enishi scoring 4 goals, while Lore Jun, Maeda Toshiyuki, Moroya Yuki and Maeda Atsuya each scored 3 goals. Matsuno Ryosuke scored two goals. In the second classification match of the Women’s 5–8, Uzbekistan won by defeating Hong Kong 14-7. Gavshelashvili Elena and Andriyakhina Sofia led the Uzbek team with four goals, while Markova Alisa scored 2 goals and Glergel Veronica, Salamatova Aziza, Kalova Alexa and Murtazaeva Komila Komila scored one goal. For Hong Kong, Ho Cheuk Kiu scored 4 goals, Lau Kwan Ling scored 2 and captain Lau Tse Ching scored one goal. Thailand won the Men’s 5-8 classification match with a narrow margin of 15-14 over Hong Kong. For Thailand, Kaumani Sutanen scored five goals, while Ekchaona Watcharawarong scored three goals. Captain Chomposang Pattanit and Chaniom Phongsathon each scored 2 goals, while Sangthanapanich Phuriphong, Komkai Tanakorn and Kaukong Wuttikorn each scored 1 goal for Thailand. For Hong Kong, Choi Hin Kit Gilman led the team with 4 goals, and Ching Tse Shun, Cheung Cheuk Hei, Fung Kong Ching, and captain Cheng Hei Mann also scored 2 goals each. Zhang Tse Hin and Cheng Hei Chun also scored 1 goal. In the other men’s 5-8 classification match, Singapore defeated Uzbekistan 24-11. The attack of Singapore was led by Ong ee Kee Joshua, Lee Jia Jun Isaac and Chow Yong Jun, who each scored four goals. Yap Dong Xuan Ryan scored 3 goals, while Captain Rajendra Sanjeev, Lok Shawn Blasius and SAC Justin Kin each scored 2 goals. Goh Matthias, Chank Derek and Chan Dominic Bo also scored one goal. For Uzbekistan, Vishnyakov Artur was the top scorer with 4 goals, followed by Turgunov Shakhzod with 3 goals.
