Bhadohi: International carpet scholarship begins, CM said - if one country tariff imposes, we will open ten routes.
Bhadohi, October 11 (IANS). Yogi Adityanath, chief minister of Uttar Pradesh, inaugurated the 49th International Carpet Exchange and the 4th Carpet Expo in Bhadohi on Saturday. During this, the chief minister said it is not necessary to be afraid of US rates. It is a time for us to open doors for new opportunities. While interacting with carpet opponents and exporters from India and abroad, he assured them that the state government stood with them in every situation. Yogi AdityanAd said: “When challenges are concerned, they also bring opportunities. America has imposed rates, but this is the decision of only one country. We are moving quickly to free trade agreements with the UAE, the United Kingdom and other countries. In the coming times, these agreements will open new markets for our industries.” He said that the government forms a high -level committee on this topic that is constantly working on the situation arising from rates. The chief minister said the carpet industry was about to close 11 years ago, but led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the carpet groups of Bhadohi, Mirzapur and Varanasi gained new energy. CM said Carpet Expo Mart was founded by making Bhadohi the center. When the first expo took place, the number of foreign buyers was much less, but today three to four hundred foreign buyers from 88 countries come here, showing how much demand for your rugs in the world market has increased. Yogi Adityanath said that the UP government encouraged specific industries in each district under the MSME and Odop (one district one product), including the carpet sector. Taptyte of Bhadohi, buyer of Moradabad, Glass or Firozabad and Silk or Varanasi have new identity. When we started with the odd scheme in 2017, no one thought UP would export more than Rs 2 Lakh Crore, it has now become a reality. The chief minister said that the mat industry is not just a business, it is a living tradition of our artisans and crafts. This industry nowadays offers 25 to 30 Lakh people and performs about Rs 17 thousand crore each year. He said it became the greatest medium for women’s confidence. The government is trying to connect this industry with more women so that they can become financially strong by staying at home. The chief minister said it does not underestimate Bhadohi, it is a symbol of the economic strength of the state and the country. Before 2014, this industry was almost dead, but today it became the identity of UP. He said that Swadeshi festivals were arranged at the event of Diwali in all 75 districts of the state, in which special stalls were erected from Bhadohi mats. During this time, Ravi Pateria, who was present, said: “The carpet industry is the magic of the hands. We made the world’s biggest carpet and sent it to Kazakhstan. This art must get a special status.” The chief minister said that the government is considering the establishment of a consideration committee so that the proposals of entrepreneurs can be included in policy decisions. Haji Hameed said: “Your dedication has given the carpet industry a new life. Both Bhadohi and the state may have made participants in the one trillion economy through this industry.” Referring to the development of Mirzapur-Vindhya Corridor, Anil Singh said the surrounding areas should also be developed like NCR, on which the chief minister said that “work is going on to prepare Bhadohi, Varanasi and Mirzapur as a development area by connecting them.” Adarsh Purnima, who has been associated with this industry for four decades, said that “if there is a confluence of spirituality and politics, is success.” The exporter Alok Baranwal raised the problem of a lack of weavers and migration of workers, on which the chief minister said: “We are working on confidence by connecting the industry with women and local workers.” The chief minister said that our purpose is not only to save the industry, but to take it to new heights. If one country imposes rates, we will open our doors to ten new countries. This is the spirit of self -sufficient India. Not to be afraid of challenges, but to turn them into opportunities.
