Odisha CM Mohan Majhi praised the prime minister's agricultural schemes.
Bhubaneswar, October 11 (IANS). Odisha chief minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Saturday launched the ‘Dhan-Dhanya Krishi Yojana’ and ‘Self-Reliance Mission in Pulse Production’ by Premier Narendra Modi as historical. He said that both of these schemes would give a new direction to the country’s agricultural system and empower the farmers economically. CM Majhi said: “Today, the prime minister has dedicated two major schemes to our farmers. These initiatives will not only increase production, but will also help farmers to increase their income.” He informed that it would be implemented in the first phase of the scheme in four districts of Odisha (Kandhamal, Malkangiri, Sundargarh and Nuapada). This scheme is starting in 100 districts across the country. Mohan Charan Majhi said: “This program will be launched immediately and will be managed for a few years. An annual budget of Rs 24,000 has been earmarked for this, which will benefit about 1.7 crore farmers.” The main minister describes the main objectives of the scheme and said that the emphasis was on increasing productivity, improving irrigation facilities, providing fair prices by minimum support price (MSP), strengthening the storage and marketing infrastructure. He said: “With this, farmers will not just depend on Paddy and will be able to move to other crops, which will increase their income.” Chief Minister Majin also mentioned two major projects related to the fisheries sector. The first is the integrated Aqua Park built in Basantpur in Sambalpur at a cost of Rs 100 crore, and the second is the modern fish market built at Pandara in Bhubaneswar at a cost of Rs 60 crore. He said these projects would accelerate the ‘Blue Revolution’ in Odisha and thus increase production, processing and marketing. The Chief Minister said that since the arrival of the central government, special attention has been paid to agriculture and boerewelsyn. PM Kisan, MSP and various state schemes have strengthened the rural economy. He also informed that under the Samriddh Krishak Yojana of the State Government, farmers input from Rs 3.100 per quintal with MSP. Economic benefits are provided directly to women farmers, and GST exemption on agricultural investments reduces costs. In conclusion, the chief minister said: “Dhan-Dhanya Krishi Yojana and confidence mission will bring wealth in our farming sentences, strengthen the state economy and make India independent in the field of agriculture.” Meanwhile, Chandra Sahu, a progressive Boer Corporation from the Cuttack district, described this initiative as a historical step towards the empowerment of farmers and agricultural transformation. Sahu said: “Today’s initiative by the Honorable Prime Minister is a new beginning for the Farmers of India. It is a visionary initiative that will take our country forward and lift millions of farmers.” He thanks the prime minister for his continued efforts to strengthen the agricultural sector and said: “No other leader has shown such a deep understanding and commitment to the well -being of farmers. His reforms, including GST adjustments and support schemes, are causing real growth in the rural economy.” Sahu said: “It is a matter of pride that four districts of Odisha have been selected under this scheme. It will encourage our farmers to diversify crops and adopt modern methods.” Regarding the self-confidence mission in the production of Pulse, Sahu said: “This is an important step. Promoting pulses will open new sources of revenue for farmers, reduce the dependence on imports and make India independent in the Pulse sector. This will strengthen our financial stability.” Sahu, who expresses optimism about the future of Odisha, said: “Under the leadership of Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, Odisha farmers will benefit greatly from this initiative. These schemes will not only improve productivity but also ensure better income and wealth for rural families.” He concluded: “This is a turning point for Indian agriculture.
