Bihar election: Matihani is an economic and administrative center in the Gupta dynasty, and the dark history of catching views is also linked to it.

Begusarai, October 12 (IANS). All political parties have strengthened their preparations for the Bihar meeting election. There is a battle between the ruling party and the opposition Grand Alliance for each seat. Political maneuvering among political parties has also increased for the seat of the Matihani meeting. Matihani is one of the seven constituencies of Begusarai, namely Cheriya Bariyarpur, Bachhwara, Teghra, Matihani, Sahabpur Kamal, Begusarai and Bakhri (SC). For the first time after independence, in the first general election of 1957, an incident of catching the Booth at the Matihani meeting took place, which became a stigma for democracy. This area also has its own historical interest. This area is located in the Mithila region in North Bihar and was an economic and administrative center during the Gupta dynasty. The remains are also found during the Pal dynasty and the mughal period. Its importance has decreased over time, and Begusarai has become the economic center of the district’s headquarters. There is a limited commercial activity in Matihani these days, but the proximity of the Ganges River makes it agriculture. Rice, wheat and vegetables are the most important crops, although flooding and lack of irrigation challenges remain. The completion of the New River Bridge project approved in 2022 is expected to increase the economy. As for the geographical location, Matihani is connected to a trail (Muzaffarpur-Darbhanga line) and the road (NH-28). Begusarai is 35 km, Rosra 13 km, Barauni Industrial Town 12 km, Mokama 25 km, Samastipur 34 km, Darbhanga (divisional headquarters) 107 km north and Patna 107 km west. Politically, the Matihani meeting was founded in 1977. After the 2008 demarcation, it consists of Matihani and Shampho-Akhakurha development blocks, 19 grams of Panchayats from Begusarai Block, Barauni Industrial Town and four blocks from Barauni Block. The initial phase was dominated by the Communist Party of India (CPI), which won five out of seven elections. The congress has had success twice. Then Narendra Kumar Singh won four consecutive times (twice as an independent and twice on Janata Dal (United) ticket). In the 2020 election, Rajkumar Singh of Lok Janshakti Party (LJP) Narendra Kumar Singh of JDU defeated just 333 votes. Rajkumar received 61,364 votes. Interestingly, Rajkumar Singh has now joined JDU. In that election, the left front (CPI-M) had the support of RJD congress, which was only 765 votes behind LJP. There was a close match between the top three parties, but NDA got a slight lead. Matihani has a total population of 5,96,290, which includes 3,14,749 men and 2,81,541 women. According to the latest electoral list of the Electoral Commission, there are a total of 3,64,329 voters in the meeting of the meeting, which includes 1,92,000 men, 1,72,327 women and 2 third generations. –Is Sch/ABM
