The global technical giant Google has made a big bet on India. Google CEO Sundar Pichai has announced his company will invest £ 1.33 Lakh Crore ($ 15 billion) to build an important center for artificial intelligence (AI) in India. Pichai said on Tuesday that he spoke to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and shared the US technical giant’s plans for his first AI hub in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh. Google has announced a massive data center and artificial intelligence base in Visakhapatnam, which will be the largest AI hub outside the US. The company said Google will invest £ 15bn in India over the next five years. Sundar Pichai, referring to his conversation with Premier Modi, shared this information on social media and called it a historical step. It will accelerate the development across the country the CEO of India wrote on Twitter: “It was great to talk to India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi. We shared our plans for the first Google AI Center in Visakhapatnam, which is a historic milestone.” Pichai has written, “This center brings together Gigawatt-scale computer capacity, a new international Subsea port and a major energy infrastructure. Through IT we will bring our leading technology to Indian businesses and users, which can accelerate AI innovation and grow in the country.” Many important ministers of the Government of India on one platform on the other, a major event called “India Ai Shakti”, were arranged in Delhi, in which many important ministers of the Government of India came together. On the same occasion, Google Cloud CEO Thomas Kurian shared information on this investment, saying: “It will be our biggest AI center outside the US in which we invest.” A formal agreement was also signed on this event. This agreement was signed between Google and Andhra Pradesh government. According to the agreement, Pichai has placed a partnership with Adani Group, and the US-based Google will invest $ 15 billion over the next five years to set up an AI hub in Visakhapatnam. It will also include the country’s largest data center in partnership with Adani Group.
