In Cuttack, a local client described how the GST on electronics made everyday luxuries more affordable. The customer said: “GST on daily use items such as air conditioners and refrigerators has been reduced from 28 percent to 18 percent. Now we can buy these products easier and at lower prices. Cuttack shop owner Amit Biswal also said the same. He said: “Earlier, customers asked the price and departure without buying. Now they are happy to buy. Our business has grown significantly with the reduction in GST.” Shiv Prasad, another shop owner living in Puri, Odisha, appreciated the timely decision the government made. He said: “Earlier, people were reluctant to buy bulk, but now the prices have dropped and customers are streaming. Consumer interest has increased and sales during the Puja season were excellent. I am very grateful for the government.” The same is the situation in Noida. With inflation at the lowest in 99 months and GST rates on many items, especially electronics, the markets are in a positive mood. A local shop owner said: “Diwali preparations are in full swing. Our sales increased significantly compared to last year. Reducing 10 percent in GST on electronics has attracted customers to offline stores again.” Shopkeepers from Hardoi in Uttar Pradesh said the number of customers has increased. A shopkeeper said: “After the reduction in GST, more customers have started coming to our stores. This festive season competes us with online platforms. Both customers and traders are happy.” There are a large multitude of buyers in the markets of New -Delhi. People are excited about the reduction in the prices of household products after the GST cut. A female buyer said that the prices of goods dropped during the Diwali festival, whereby we get goods within our budget. Women’s buyers say there is a washing up in the market. There is enthusiasm for shopping among the people. People utilize the GST cut. Another shop owner said the markets are engaged in activities during the favorable opportunity of Diwali. There is a great demand for Indian products and craft items in the market. In the sectors, the message is clear – GST reform gave households economic relief, revived the demand for the market and revived the festive spirit across India.
