After Nayeem’s reaction, Bangladesh cricket team coach Phil Simmons advised cricketers to stay away from social media. But as an international player and national player of Bangladesh, players should not be there.” The head coach also condemned the racial abuse against wicketkeeper-batsman Zakir Ali. He said: “I will say one thing, it’s not good to bring racial undertones into anything related to players. I don’t care where you come from. I’m disgusted by the racial slurs against Zakir Ali. It’s not good. I don’t want my players to react to anything on social media.” Bangladesh played a three T20 and three ODI series against Afghanistan. Bangladesh swept Afghanistan in the T20 series but lost all three matches in the ODIs. In the next series, Bangladesh will play three ODIs against West Indies at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Dhaka, while the T20 International matches will be played at the Bir Shrestho Flight Lieutenant Matiur Rahman Stadium in Chittagong. –IANS PAK Share this story Tags
