Over 4.16 lakh SMC and SDMC members will be given special training

The Education Department is taking a big step this academic year to appoint members of School Management Committees (SMCs) and School Development and Management Committees (SDMCs). The department will spend ₹20.84 crore to train 416,832 members. When and how will the training take place? The training will be a two-day non-residential program. This program will take place in September and October. Five executive members and one public representative from each committee, ie a total of six elected members, will participate in the training. The School Management Committee (SMC) has a total of 16 members, and the School Development and Management Committee (SDMC) has 23 members. Objectives of the training According to Task No. 198 of the National Education Policy 2020 is the main objective of the training: To sensitize principals, counselors and students about social issues and stigma. Integrate marginalized groups into the mainstream. Provide committee members with full information about their responsibilities and rights.
