Monthly PMI funds raised IDR 3 billion, mayor of Semarang praises citizen participation

Jakarta – Mayor of Semarang, Agustina Wilung, who is also the general chairman of the Semarang City PMI Humanitarian Fund Month 2025, led the closing and handing over of results of the PMI Fund Month at Wisma Peace, Saturday (18/10). This activity is also the culmination of the social solidarity movement which carries the theme ‘Humanity for Healthier Lifestyle’ and has been going on for three months, from 20 June to 19 September 2025. “This is the deepest meaning of Humanitarian Fund Month, that we help not because we can, but because we care,” explains Agustina in her statement (218/510, Saturday). PAGE TO CONTINUE CONTENT It is known that the Semarang City PMI Humanitarian Fund Month 2025 has managed to raise funds of IDR 3,125,282,970 billion. This PMI humanitarian fund is the result of mutual cooperation between all elements of society that participated in the collection of funds. Of the total receipts, Mandatory Monthly Fund Contributions (SWBD) were recorded at IDR 312,000,000 billion, of which 10% will be handed over to PMI Central Java Province. The funds raised will be used for various PMI humanitarian services, including blood donation, disaster preparedness, social assistance, as well as volunteer training and emergency services. “In a period of only 3 months, no 3 months, (have) 3.1 more. Thank you to the residents of the city of Semarang and we appreciate PMI very much,” said Agustina. Furthermore, this activity aims to raise awareness and unite the humanitarian spirit of Semarang residents. The Semarang City Government (Pemkot) is committed to continue supporting the PMI program so that the spirit of humanity becomes an everyday culture, thus creating a ‘resilient Semarang’ with a society that is compassionate and helps each other. Agustina also did not forget to praise the active participation of the community, from government institutions, the private sector, schools, to individuals, who showed that mutual cooperation is the true character of Semarang city residents. He also expressed special appreciation to the Voluntary Blood Donors, especially the 25th award recipient and the 17-year-old young donor, who was called “a symbol of the birth of a new generation with the spirit of humanity for a healthier lifestyle”. “Everything is for humanity that continues to grow with the environment. And hopefully all PMI volunteers and activists will be given health and enthusiasm to carry out humanitarian tasks in the city of Semarang,” Agustina concluded. (acn/ega)
