Surabaya police are investigating 34 men who were assaulted during gay party
Surabaya – As many as 34 naked men were arrested by the police during a same-sex party in a room at the Midtown Residence Hotel, Surabaya. All the men were immediately taken to Surabaya police for questioning. “From the results of the raid, we arrested 34 people who were in the hotel room. They were suspected of carrying out activities that were not in accordance with moral norms,” Chief of the Surabaya Police Headquarters, AKBP Erika, as reported by detikJatim, Sunday (19/10/2025). “We are currently taking them all to the Surabaya police for further investigation,” AKBP Erika added. SCROLL TO CONTINUE CONTENT The raid was carried out in the early hours of Sunday morning by a joint team of the Surabaya Sat Samapta Polrestabes together with the Criminal Investigation Unit and the Wonokromo Police. This operation is part of law enforcement efforts against alleged indecent acts that disturb the public. AKBP Erika explained that during the operation, officers detained dozens of people suspected of being involved. According to the police, the raid was carried out after reports were received from residents who were suspicious about activities at the hotel. After conducting an investigation, officers eventually found strong evidence at the scene. A total of 34 people, consisting of guests and event organizers, are now being held at the Surabaya Police Headquarters. They will be investigated to determine the motive and party responsible for the activity. “We are still investigating this matter. If elements of law violations are found, we will of course follow up according to appropriate procedures,” AKBP Erika added. He emphasized that this step was a form of Surabaya Police’s commitment to maintaining public order and the moral values of society. Similar operations will continue to be conducted, especially in locations that have the potential to be sites of immoral practices or other legal violations. “We urge the public to report immediately if they become aware of suspicious and potentially illegal activities. Cooperation between the police and the community is key in creating a safe and civilized environment,” he said. Surabaya Police hope that this raid will have a deterrent effect and serve as a warning to other parties not to carry out similar activities in the future.
