India never enriched the world with culture and knowledge, not for conquest: Mohan Bhagwat
Mumbai, October 19 (IANS). Speaking at the book release ceremony held in Mumbai, Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat said Indian civilization has never enriched the world through force or violence but through knowledge and scriptures. In his speech, Bhagwat talked about the country’s old traditions, spiritual splendor and modern challenges. Mohan Bhagwat then addressed the program and said that India had an era when we spread ‘good culture’ across the world. There was no Arian dynasty. Those who were cultured and well behaved were called Arya. How our ancestors traveled is not entirely known, but it is clear that they spread around the world, from Mexico to Siberia. Wherever he went, he did not capture states or convert them by force. Instead, he enriched others by sharing civilization, mathematics, Ayurveda and many kinds of scriptures. He did all this to strengthen and enlighten the world through his legacy. He also said that with the passage of time, due to some weaknesses and luxury, we have forgotten our glorious past, and external aggressive forces have damaged our resources and intelligence. The Sangh head said: “We took goodwill to the whole world, but people from outside came who were not benevolent. People who came here from the outside world only wanted to conquer. For them it was a race to be first in the world. Those who came first plundered and ruined us, and those who came later plundered our intelligence. So we forgot what we could give to the world, because that is who we are.” spiritual tradition that is unbroken here.” Mohan Bhagwat in his speech mentioned the articles of Western critics, in which India and its ancient texts (Patanjali and Yogavashishtha) were praised. He said it is sad that once upon a time we had to take help from the West for this recognition, but now the situation is changing and we should be proud of our heritage. Mohan Bhagwat further said, “It is our duty to become like a person who has both the scriptures and the scriptures, that is, both strength and devotion.” He said that times have changed and people around the world have now realized that the paths they have been walking are leading to destruction. They find a new way by trying every way and doing different experiments. India offers a new path and intellectuals have expectations from India. “We know everyone is connected and it is our duty to provide relief. But if someone tries to create obstruction, we must have force,” the Sangh chief said in his speech. –IANS DCH/
