Minister of Social Affairs: Prabowo Era Social Assistance Budget IDR 110 Trillion, Largest in History

Jakarta – Minister of Social Affairs (Mensos) Saifullah Yusuf or Gus Ipul revealed the achievements of President Prabowo Subianto’s one-year administration. Gus Ipul explained that the value of the social assistance (bansos) budget in the Prabowo era was the highest in Indonesian history. “The 2025 budget ceiling is IDR 71 trillion for 20 million KPM. But in President Prabowo’s era, it has been increased to more than IDR 110 trillion, and it is probably the biggest in history,” Gus Ipul told journalists after visiting SRMA 33 South Tangerang, Sunday (19/10/2025). Gus Ipul explained that the increase in the social assistance budget was a form of President Prabowo’s concern for the lower class. He said Prabowo also wanted social assistance recipients to be able to move up a class, meaning they would not always receive social assistance. That’s why he created a Coordinating Minister for Empowerment. Because the President also has a focus on getting those who receive social assistance to move up in class through government empowerment programs,” he explained. According to Gus Ipul, tens of thousands of Beneficiary families (KPM) no longer received social assistance in the past year. “Thank God, this year with a very limited budget, with the President’s guidance, we can graduate more than 77 thousand beneficiary families who now no longer want to receive social assistance, which means they have been upgraded,” he added. He added that President Prabowo’s poverty alleviation programs are considered successful. One of the programs that he says is the mainstay of poverty alleviation is the People’s School. “So all the President’s flagship programs intervene in the families of public school students. Well, this is extraordinary. Well, in my opinion, this is the basis to lay the foundation in the first year with strategic steps that I think in the 2nd and 3rd year the impact will be felt in the community,” he said. Gus Ipul said that the National Social and Economic Single Data (DTSEN) was another achievement of President Prabowo Subianto’s government. According to him, DTSEN is the government’s way of making strategic steps to implement programs such as in the areas of social protection, social security, social rehabilitation and social empowerment. “So that we can move forward well, the President asked us to start by consolidating data. That is why the President issued Presidential Instruction No. 4 of 2025. Before, Indonesia never had one data,” he emphasized.
