A similar incident came to light in the village of Pehowa in Arunay, where a woman herself said goodbye to the world just 15 hours after the death of her husband. The deceased have been identified as 45-year-old Narendra Singh alias Bittu and his 40-year-old Karamjeet Kaur. Narendra used to serve at the dargah of the pir in the village, while Karamjeet was a housewife. It is said that Narendra Singh suddenly felt severe chest pain around 12 noon on Saturday. Family members took him to a private hospital in Pehowa, where he died during treatment. As soon as the news of Narendra’s death spread in the village and family, there was mourning. Karamjit Kaur was devastated by the news of her husband’s death. Narendra’s last rites were postponed as it was night time, but at around 3.30 am on Sunday, Karamjeet also breathed his last at home. Family members also took him to the hospital, but the doctors declared him dead. It is said that the reason for his death could also be a heart attack. The husband and wife were cremated together in the town on Sunday morning. A single pyre was decorated for both of them, which was lit by their son Vishu. Narendra Singh has two daughters, Sanur and Twinkle, who are married. Son Vishu, who works at a clothing store in Pehowa, lives with his three daughters. Narendra Singh’s father, Balwant Singh, retired from the army as a Havildar. Later he worked in Haryana Police. He died about 10 years ago. Balwant Singh’s family was originally from Gurugram, but after retirement they settled in the village of Arunay.
