According to this, female policemen were given training in drone operation. These trained women monitor the crowded areas as ‘Drone Didi’. The aim of this initiative is crowd control, identification of suspicious activities and prevention of unwanted incidents. With an aim to make the security arrangements in the Western District more effective and technically strong during festivals, women police personnel have been trained in modern technology of drone operation under the Netra Women-led initiative by the Western District Police. These trained women police personnel have been deployed in the role of Drone Didi, carrying out real-time surveillance through drones in congested areas like Tilak Nagar, Rajouri Garden, Moti Nagar and Kirti Nagar. Remove Advertisement Only Read News Western District Police Deputy Commissioner Darade Sharad Bhaskar says the main objective of this initiative is crowd control, identification of suspicious activities, monitoring of traffic system and prevention of any untoward incident. If any kind of suspicious scene is received from the drone, it is immediately sent to the police control room, thereby ensuring quick action by notifying the relevant police team immediately. The effective operation of drones by women police personnel has not only brought about technical efficiency in security management but is also a strong example of women empowerment and leadership in Delhi Police. The “Netra Nari Led” initiative shows that women in policing are not only an integral part of security but also play a leading role in operationalizing modern technology and decision making. Four women policemen have been trained in the district. Four women policemen in the district have been trained in drone operations. They were trained by the technical unit of Delhi Police. The district just received two drones. Their number will be increased if necessary. Police officials say that with the help of drones, surveillance becomes much easier. Real-time information is available on where the crowd is more in the market and where the crowd is increasing. Based on this information, police personnel are immediately deployed where necessary.
