Peepal: God tree of the earth, in which the treasure of medicinal properties is hidden.

New Delhi, October 18 (IANS). Peepal tree has not only religious but also Ayurvedic importance in Indian culture. It is considered as a complete medicinal tree. In Sanskrit it is called Ashvattha. This tree is considered to be a symbol of the trinity of Brahma, Vishnu and Mahesh. From religious point of view it is worshiped and from scientific point of view it is a unique tree which releases oxygen 24 hours. In Ayurvedic texts such as Charak Samhita and Bhavaprakash Nighantu, Peepal has been described as a destroyer of Vata, Pitta and Kapha doshas, ​​a blood purifier, beneficial for the heart and of cooling nature. Its fruits, leaves, bark, milk (latex) and root parts are full of medicinal properties. The decoction of Peepal bark is very useful in problems like respiratory diseases, cough and diarrhoea. It clears mucus and provides relief in breathing. The paste of its green leaves is very effective in skin disorders such as boils, pimples, dandruff, itching and fungal infections. The white milk (latex) that comes from its stem is useful in toothache and swelling of gums. In case of diarrhea and intestinal weakness, using dry peepal bark powder with curd is beneficial. For heart diseases, consumption of decoction of dry peepal leaves with honey strengthens the heart and normalizes the heartbeat. In addition, taking Peepal fruit powder with honey or milk provides energy and strength to men. According to religious belief, worshiping Peepal tree brings peace to Pitra Dosha and Saturn related defects. Meditating in its shadow is considered a source of spiritual peace and positive energy. This tree not only purifies the environment but is also very beneficial for mental and physical health. However, caution is also necessary in its use.
