Union Ministers wished Diwali to the countrymen, appealed to live in harmony

New Delhi, October 20 (IANS). Union ministers on Monday greeted the countrymen on Diwali, describing it as a symbol of the victory of light over darkness. The festival of Diwali symbolizes the spiritual victory of religion over injustice, light over darkness, good over evil and knowledge over ignorance. It is celebrated with great enthusiasm across the country, where people worship Goddess Lakshmi by lighting lamps and candles. Union Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal posted on social media platform ‘X’: “Happy Diwali to all countrymen!” He said, “May this holy festival, which symbolizes the victory of light over darkness and truth over falsehood, bring happiness, prosperity, health and new energy to all of our lives.” Hardeep Singh Puri, Union Minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas, wished the countrymen happiness and prosperity. Puri said, “Heartiest congratulations and best wishes to all of you on the holy festival of Diwali, which symbolizes the victory of light over darkness, truth over falsehood and justice over injustice. I wish that this holy festival of light brings happiness and prosperity in everyone’s life.” Union Food and Civil Supplies Minister Prahlad Joshi called for strengthening the bond of harmony in the society. The Minister said, “Heartiest greetings to all on the auspicious occasion of Diwali. May this festival bring peace, prosperity and positivity in every home and strengthen the bonds of harmony in our society.” Communications Minister Jyotiraditya M Scindia wrote on his social media platform, Parliamentary Affairs and Minority Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju also congratulated Diwali and wished love, peace and harmony across the country. Rijiju posted on social media platform Earlier, President Draupadi Murmu and Prime Minister Narendra Modi also greeted the countrymen on Diwali and wished happiness and prosperity to all. –IANS SAC/VC
