The police received information that some miscreants were involved in the incidents of truck theft and robbery in Mandhata, Raniganj and Mauaima. On receiving specific information Inspector Arjun Singh in charge of the special team and Mandhata SO AK Singh were present near Rampur Bantri village. Four miscreants came in a car. When they tried to stop four people who had come in a car, they got out of the car and started shooting at the police. One person was injured by a bullet in his leg in the police retaliatory fire. He has been identified as Zainul Abedin of Mandhata Parshurampur. Another accused, Amit, who was found with him, was chased and caught. Two people fled the scene. The police chased the miscreants who fled from the spot. The miscreants opened fire on the police team and besieged the village of Sarai Ratau. When the police tried to stop the two miscreants who were running away, they too started shooting. In retaliatory firing, both were injured by bullets in their legs. The injured accused have been identified as Sunil Yadav of Dubahi Mauaima and Haseeb of Pipri Dilippur. Police recovered a pistol and five stolen vehicles from the miscreants and took them to Raja Pratap Bahadur Hospital. Many cases have been filed against the miscreants. They are so cunning that they sell stolen vehicles by changing their appearance, so that the police are deceived. Five vehicles were recovered from them. SP said – the escaped criminals will be arrested. SP Deepak Bhukar says the police were looking for these criminals in the case of truck, van theft and robbery.
