1 year Prabowo-Gibran, Minister of Social Affairs, strengthens the direction and strategy of social programs
Jakarta – Today is exactly one year of the reign of President Prabowo Subianto and Vice President Gibran Rakabuming. Minister of Social Affairs Saifullah Yusuf (Gus Ipul) emphasized that in this first year the Ministry of Social Affairs laid the foundation and established strategies within the framework of the implementation of the President’s program. “Today we are conducting an evaluation and at the same time studying the achievements we have achieved in the past year, especially in the translation and follow-up of the president’s aspirations and directives,” says Gus Ipul in his statement, Monday (20/10/2025). He expressed this after the celebration of achievements of 1 year of President Prabowo Subianto’s administration in the field of social welfare at the Aneka Bakti Building, Ministry of Social Affairs, Jakarta, Monday (20/10/2025). This year, it started consolidating data so that Indonesia currently has one data through Presidential Instruction Number 4 of 2025 on Single National Socio-Economic Data (DTSEN). This data is managed by the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) and the Ministry of Social Affairs, together with local governments, which play a role in periodically updating the data. “We carried out land investigations for more than 12 million KPM (Beneficiary Families), we visited their homes through the assistants we have, supported by the local Social Service and also by other elements, one of which is also important is the regional BPS to ensure that the beneficiaries meet the criteria for the distribution of social assistance,” he said. From the results of checking the 12 million KPM, it was found that 1.9 million recipients were declared to no longer meet the criteria for receiving social assistance or inclusion errors. Apart from that, the Ministry of Social Affairs and the Center for Financial Transaction Reports and Analysis (PPATK) are also combing through the accounts of beneficiaries, it is suspected that more than 600 thousand accounts were misused, one of which was for Online Gambling (Judol). However, Gus Ipul explained that he still offers opportunities to recipients who really need social assistance to reactivate them through established mechanisms such as formal and participatory channels through the Cek Bansos and SIKS-NG applications. “In principle, we are opening up the widest possible opportunities for people who really need government help through reactivation,” he explained. He emphasized that if DTSEN updates are carried out regularly and consistently, the data will be more accurate and the program more targeted. President Prabowo wants social assistance recipients to advance to class through empowerment programs. “It’s not just about receiving social assistance, but also getting support, guidance and mentoring to become a more empowered family, an independent family, so this year more than 77 thousand KPM graduated, graduated and no longer received social assistance,” he emphasized. In addition to data consolidation and targeted social assistance, 166 Pilot People’s Schools began operating in phases from July to September this year and accommodate nearly 16 thousand students. “We hope that the People’s School will be able to complete the construction of permanent schools next year, and thus each permanent school will be able to accommodate more than a thousand students. Next year, God willing, People’s School students will reach 46 thousand students,” he hoped. Furthermore, he also highlighted evaluations in the field of management that were good and should be maintained, be it financial management performance, service management or other management supervision. “We hope that this will be an encouragement to all levels of the Ministry of Social Affairs to continuously improve themselves and provide inclusive services, more transparent services and fairer services, free from corruption, free from abuse of authority,” he concluded.
