Sabarkantha: Clash between two groups in Moid village, more than 10 people were injured
Sabarkantha, October 18 (IANS). A massive clash broke out between two groups late on Friday evening in Moid village of Prantij tehsil in Sabarkantha district of Gujarat. In this incident, incidents of stone pelting and arson took place, due to which tension spread in the town. Taking immediate action, the police registered a complaint against more than 60 people and detained around 20 people. Currently, peace has been restored in the town, and strict police vigilance is being deployed. According to the information, this clash started due to old rivalry regarding the management of Bhairavnath temple. Around 02:00 in the night, both groups came face to face, after which stone throwing started. The mob also indulged in arson and damaged more than 10 two-wheelers and glass of some houses. More than 10 people were injured in this commotion. A crowd of more than 100 people gathered on the spot to control which the police had to arrive immediately. Himmatnagar Deputy Superintendent of Police AK Patel told journalists that an FIR has been registered against 110 to 120 people in this case. The police detained 20 people and started questioning them. In the initial investigation, old enmity is considered to be the main reason for the clash. The police have brought the situation under control and further investigation is underway. At the same time, people demanded that concrete steps should be taken to prevent such incidents in the future. The police have deployed additional forces in the town to maintain peace.
