Bhubaneswar, October 20 (IANS). The festival of Diwali is celebrated due to which the excitement and crowd in the markets increases. The same scene was seen in the Baramunda firework market of Bhubaneswar, where everyone was engaged in festive shopping. In the same crowd, Class 10 student Arpita gave the message to the people to celebrate a safe and environment friendly Diwali. Arpita, who comes to buy coconuts with her family, said, “Everyone is excited about this festival and that is what makes Diwali special. But we should not forget the responsibility in this happiness.” Arpita lauded the two-hour limit set by the government for bursting fire crackers and said the decision was a good step to reduce pollution. She said: “The deadline set by the government is a step in the right direction. We must follow it and inspire others to do the same.” Arpita said, “I have taken such firecrackers which are less smoky and do not make loud noise. The number of loud and polluting firecrackers should be reduced. Together we can celebrate a safe, green and happy Diwali.” The shopkeepers and local people present in the Baramunda market also supported Arpita’s words. He said that many people are showing interest in eco-friendly coconuts this time due to which the level of awareness towards the environment has increased. Let us tell you that green coconuts are considered eco-friendly. These crackers emit much less pollution and cause less pollution than regular crackers. These special crackers were developed by the scientific organization CIR-NEERI (National Environmental Engineering Research Institute). The biggest feature of green biscuits is that no harmful chemicals are used in them. –IANS VKU/AS Share this story Tags
