CBI arrests JKLFC divisional officer in bribery case
Jammu, October 18 (IANS). CBI has arrested a divisional officer in Jammu in a case of bribery of Rs 80 thousand. This officer is posted in the legal department of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh Finance Corporation (JKLFC). According to CBI, the officer demanded a bribe of Rs 80,000 from the complainant, from which he was arrested while taking the first installment of Rs 20,000. The investigating agency said in a press release that a complaint had been received against the officer. The accused divisional officer demanded a bribe of Rs 80 thousand from the complainant, so that he could proceed with the file related to the settlement of the MSME loan of Rs 51 lakh from the complainant. During discussions with the complainant, the first installment was fixed at Rs 20,000. Thereafter, the CBI laid a trap and caught the accused red-handed while accepting the first installment of bribe of Rs 20,000 from the complainant. This amount was taken by the accused through online UPI on his mobile number, which was related to the settlement of the MSME loan of Rs 51 lakh. The further installment would be given after the decision was positive. CBI informed that search work is going on at the residential premises of the accused.
