Madhya Pradesh: Chief Minister Yadav reviewed the Bhavantar scheme for soybean farmers

Bhopal, October 21 (IANS). Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav chaired the review meeting of Bhavantar Yojana on Tuesday. He instructed the officials to ensure that farmers are not inconvenienced at any stage of the implementation process. The Chief Minister directed that Bhavantar payment should be directly transferred to the bank accounts of farmers through Direct Benefit Transfer within the stipulated period. Farmers should also receive SMS notifications to confirm payment. It was informed in the meeting that the soybean sale period will extend from 24 October 2025 to 15 January 2026. All banking transactions are done electronically through e-Procurement and e-Mandi portal. Chief Minister Yadav said that adequate technical and human resource arrangements have been made in all the mandis and sub-mandis. Mandi level staff have been given training and CCTV surveillance has been installed at the entry gates and premises. A help desk has also been set up in each mandi. The chief minister said, “In the review meetings, instructions were given to all district collectors, commissioners and agriculture secretaries to take necessary steps related to Bhavantar Yojana.” He reiterated that Bhavantar Yojana was launched in the interest of farmers and received great appreciation across the state. He said the registrations have increased by more than three times and a total of 9.36 lakh farmers have been enrolled under the scheme. Bhavantar Yojana is a special scheme for soybean producing farmers of the state. Under this scheme, if farmers’ soybean is sold at less than the Minimum Support Price (MSP), the state government will compensate their loss. Under this scheme, the state government will calculate the average mandi price and compensate the price difference directly in the accounts of farmers through direct benefit transfer. Known as the “soybean bowl” of India, Madhya Pradesh produces about 60 percent of the country’s soybean production in 66 lakh hectares. –IANS SCH Share this story Tags
