Remove Ads Read Only News President Draupadi Murmu earlier sanctioned 127 gallantry awards and 40 distinguished service awards for army and central armed police personnel. These are- four Kirti Chakras; 15 Feather Chakra; 16 Shaurya Chakra; Sena Medal (Galantry) twice; 58 Sena Medals (Galantry); six Navy Medals (valor); 26 Vayu Sena medals (galantry); seven Best War Service Medals; Nine Uttam Yudh Seva Medals and 24 Yudh Seva Medals. The President also approved 290 mention-in-missions, which include 115 Army, five Navy, 167 Air Force and three Border Roads Development Board personnel. Among the Vir Chakra recipients, Colonel Koshank Lamba of 302 Medium Regiment was awarded the Vir Chakra for conducting the first short notice air mobilization. His guidance helped ensure timely deployment of inter-command personnel under complete secrecy, thereby showcasing the combat prowess of the Indian Army. 1988 Lieutenant Colonel Sushil Bisht of (Independent) Medium Battery was also awarded the Vir Chakra. As Commander, he led his unit with remarkable courage and operational excellence in an operation that led to the elimination of terrorist camps. Fighter pilot and Air Force Group Captain Ranjit Singh Sidhu received the Vir Chakra for commanding his squadron in effective attack missions on pre-selected targets. Commanding a surface-to-air missile from a forward air base, Group Captain Animesh Patni was an excellent leader in a mission. Under his precise guidance the enemy suffered heavy losses without causing any loss of his resources. He was awarded the Vir Chakra. Squadron Leader Rizwan Malik entered heavily defended enemy airspace as Deputy Mission Commander in a high-risk midnight mission. For this he was awarded the Vir Chakra. Squadron Leader Siddhant Singh received the Vir Chakra for his precision attack.
