Thieves targeted four abandoned houses, theft worth lakhs
Thieves were active in the city and surrounding areas last night, many of them stealing goods from vacant houses and other goods. According to local people, the thieves mostly targeted vacant houses, from where silver jewellery, cash and other valuables were stolen. A motorcycle was also stolen from a well in a nearby farm. Thieves broke into two rooms of the vacant house of Vinod Kumar Mandawat in Mandawat area. They stole a silver idol of ancestors weighing around half a kilogram and Rs 10,000-12,000 cash from the donation box. It is said that the house was empty because the family members were out. Goods stolen from locker In the nearby vacant house of Udaylal Mandawat, thieves broke the door and stole goods from the locker kept in the cupboard. About 25 silver coins, a silver puja thali, bowl and glass and two pairs of anklets were found, the value of which is said to be around Rs 1.5 lakh. Udaylal Mandawat currently lives in Kankroli, so the house was empty. The thieves also targeted the empty house in Mandawat Chowk of Prakash Mandawat, who lives in Mumbai. The thieves committed theft by breaking the door and lock of the room. The full extent of the stolen goods will be known only after Prakash returns from Mumbai. Theft in Mata Mandir: Thieves were also active in Mata Mandir near Mandawat area. They stole seven silver umbrellas (600 grams each), two hundred grams silver bowls and glasses, cash from the donation box, sixty thousand rupees cash from an adjoining room, a gun and a sword. Other incidents and pit car theft According to local people, a pit car was also stolen from the farm of Vikram Singh Jhala in Kamali Ka Guda near the city. It is worth noting that this incident is similar to the theft that happened a month ago, when two vacant houses were targeted.
